Olympia to Portland
My next destination was Portland, because during my year here in the USA I didn't have the chance to visit this city, and also because I was visiting a friend I met at Seattle University, and I could also sleep for free.
To get in Portland, I took the train, provided by Amtrak. There are only two buses that go to the Amtrak Station, the number 64 and 96, from the Olympia Transit Center. There are only 2 daily trains that go to Portland, one at 8:54AM (the one I took) which follows the Cascade route, and one at 11:15AM (the coast starlight train which goes down to Los Angeles in 25 hours!). To get to the train station, I woke up at 6:30AM, took the bus 41 at 7:00AM (the bus station is not far from the youth hostel, on Harrison Avenue), to do a connection at the Transit Center with the bus 64. I arrived at the station at 8:00AM. There is a tighter schedule possible, but it is more risky!
