Forks to Olympia in one afternoon
To go to Olympia by bus, you will need to take three different buses, one from the Jefferson Transit, and two from the Grays Harbor Transit. There are around 5 buses that leave Forks a day to go down to the South. I took the one that leaves Forks at 2:45PM, to do a connection at Amanda Park at 4:10PM with the Grays Harbor bus #60. You have to tell the bus driver that you need to do this connection, because you won't get to Amanda Park at 4:10PM most of the time, and the bus would have left before you can get it. Then from Amanda Park, you do another connection at Aberdeen with the Grays Harbor bus #40 at 5:30PM, to go directly to Olympia. The bus will drop you off at the 7th Avenue and Capitol Way in Olympia. Once again, double check the different schedule on the different websites:
Grays Harbor Transit - http://www.ghtransit.com/
Jefferson Transit - http://www.jeffersontransit.com/
There are two camping sites in Amanda Park if you want to make a stop here for the night. The Quinault lake is outstanding, when I saw it I was a little disappointed that I didn't stay here, but in my mind, it was clear that I didn't want to do camping anymore in Washington State.
